Scarlet
|
Review:
An unconventional adaptation of Hamlet, this animated epic picks up where the play leaves off: after her uncle murders her father, Scarlet sets off to find him in the Land of the Dead and achieve the vengeance she couldn't quite manage in life. In this strange underworld, Scarlet comes across a variety of dangers as well as allies, including a present-day paramedic who offers to accompany her on her journey. This is a visually stunning, time-traveling twist on the classic revenge tale that has so far flown under the radar, but is well worth seeing on the big screen - where better than at WSC?
