Ella McCay
A story about the people you love, and how to survive them
|
Writer-Director James L. Brooks (Broadcast News, Terms of Endearment) returns to the silver screen after a fifteen year absence with Ella McCay. The film follows the titular Governor of the state in which she was born and raised (Emma Mackey) who is struggling to keep the plates of both her personal and professional lives spinning. Ella McCay is the sort of film that isn’t really made anymore. An earnest, optimistic affair that dares to feature adults having conversations. Shocking, I know. A 2008 Obama-era period piece that is sure to put a smile on one’s face. Also be sure to do the viral #ellamccaychallenge in the lobby.
