The Running Man

Our favourite capybara Glen Powell stars as Ben Richards, a man with a simple goal. Outrun professional killers for 30 days and win 1 billion dollars, the grand prize of the game show The Running Man. Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Baby Driver) is known for his fast-paced directorial style, Steadicam shots and whip pans alike, and so I expect this action thriller to follow suit. This story is based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King, one that has received a (loose) screen adaptation already once before in 1987, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. After the original was found to have plagiarised from Le Prix du Danger (1983), a French movie, we can hope that this reboot will take more direct inspiration from Stephen King’s amazing work than its predecessor.
