After the Hunt

The latest from the prolific and brilliant Luca Guadagnino (director of Call Me By Your Name and Challengers), this sees him take his signature focus on relationship dramas into much darker and timelier territory than we’ve seen him handle before. Starring an incredible lead trio of actors in Julia Roberts, Ayo Edebiri and Andrew Garfield, this concerns the tangled personal and professional relationships between the three after Edebiri’s star student levels a shattering accusation against Garfield’s college professor. This looks to be a tense, dark, thrilling film with fantastic performances and the kind of thorny, deeply formed character dynamics that have defined Guadagnino’s films to this point. With that cast, that director, that premise and a brilliant trailer, this should easily be an end of the year banger. One of my most anticipated films of the year.
