Tron: Ares

In 1982 we received the original Tron movie. Almost 30 years later, we saw Tron: Legacy. Now, in 2025, we see a third instalment to the movie franchise, with Tron: Ares. This movie is described as a standalone sequel, headed by the one and only Jared Leto (Requiem for a Dream, Morbius). Set for an October release, this movie looks to be yet another take on the dangers and threats of AI in a modern world. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (composers of Soul, The Social Network and Challengers) are on board to soundtrack this movie with Nine Inch Nails, with Rønning describing their “grittier mindset” as a perfect match for “a new, more industrial Tron”. I don’t know about you, but considering the stunning sound capabilities we have at Warwick Student Cinema, I’m excited to hear what Nine Inch Nails have come out with.
