Him
|
Him slots nicely into the niche genre that is sports horror. What is a sports horror you may ask? I’m thinking Rocky, but add a bunch of blood, gruesome scenes, and psychological thrills. With Jordan Peele’s directorial and producing history in the horror genre (Get Out, Us, Candyman, Nope), we can only expect Him to front his filmography with a similar entertainment value. The story follows an up and coming football player in his training with one of the greatest quarterbacks of their time, and all the baggage that follows to make this the horror that it is. Marlon Wayans (White Chicks, Scary Movie, Norbit) is very well established in the comedy (and even comedy horror) genre, so it will be interesting to see him break through this by adding a more intense role to his repertoire.
