Review:

Set for an October release in the UK, Plainclothes looks to be a thriller with themes of drama and romance. Tom Blythe lands another main role after his success playing President Snow in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. Based on a true story, Plainclothes is set in the 90s and is queer-focused, following an undercover cop in his attempts to apprehend gay men whilst struggling with his own self-identity. Shockingly, in the U.S., homosexual activity was illegal in most states until this was overturned in 2003 by the Supreme Court. At the time of writing this, there is little information surrounding this movie, but I expect this to be a harsh and truthful watch. A vital reminder of why we cannot, and will not, go back to how things were.
