The Fantastic Four: First Steps

I have always loved the Fantastic 4 movies, all 4 adaptations of them. Yet this new addition to the bunch has just increased my love ten fold. While, yes, we are on our fourth cast (who, I’d like to add, have amazing comedic chemistry), we now get to see the Fantastic 4 four years after their origin story and how they’ve adjusted to life with their abilities. The movie is described by director Shakman as having a “retro-future ‘60s” aesthetic, drawing from how people in the 60s envisioned futuristic space travel (aka the optimistic buzz around what the space race meant for mankind). This gives the film that authentic Marvel Comics feel, which is something new that we’re seeing for the Fantastic 4 and I absolutely adore this approach. Overall, I really enjoyed this addition to the MCU and I'm excited as to where these characters can be taken.
