Flow

The perfect film to relax with for a couple hours before exam season really gets going, Flow follows a little black cat suddenly thrown into a whole new world after its home is flooded. It’s forced to take refuge on a small boat in the midst of the floodwaters, alongside a group of other animals – a lemur with hoarding tendencies, an incredibly chill capybara, a dog who just wants to make friends and a proud and aloof secretary bird – with whom it must learn to cooperate.
While it can be tense at times, Flow is ultimately a deeply heartwarming film, with memorable characters that will stay with you for a long time, even if there is no dialogue! The visuals and soundtrack are truly stunning and make this film well worth watching on the big screen. It’s Latvia’s first ever Oscar winner for good reason, one of my personal favourite films to come out this year so far, and I cannot recommend it enough. If nothing else, the cat is very cute.
