I'm Still Here

At the height of Brazil’s military dictatorship in the 1970s, the family of Eunice Paiva (Fernanda Torres) is irrevocably changed after the forced disappearance of her husband, politician Rubens Paiva. Left to care for their children alone, Eunice has to balance her search for answers with keeping her family safe.
This film has received a lot of awards attention, above all for Fernanda Torres’ incredible central performance, and it’s not hard to see why. It’s a deeply emotional and sometimes difficult story of resilience, chronicling one of the darker eras in Brazil’s history through the lens of one family’s search for truth – one of the best films of the year, and absolutely worth watching.
