Review:

I’m a huge fan of sci-fi and Mickey 17 fulfils every expectation I’d have for a space movie. It’s got humour, weird science, somewhat complex relationships (also weird) and Mark Ruffalo doing an outstanding Trump impression. Mickey Barnes (Robert Pattinson unlocking a new accent) takes on a job as an ‘Expendable’ on a new pioneer trip cross-galaxy to start a colony on planet Niflheim. This role includes being the ship’s on-call lab rat, testing new diseases, vaccines for these new diseases, fixing the exterior of the ship (with or without a spacesuit) and many more enjoyable tasks that no one else quite fancies doing. We watch as Mickey iterations 1-16 (as the name suggests) have come to their demise both before and after reaching Niflheim and what goes wrong at number 17 to warrant a whole movie named after him. If you’re interested in science, space or Rob-on-Rob action, this film is definitely worth a watch.
