Review:

Warwick Student Cinema is spoiling you lot with the chance to see the classic West Side Story in technicolor 35mm film. This beloved piece of cinema history has stood the ultimate test of time, being over 60 years old and still shown on the big screen. Adapted from Shakespeare's most famous play, Romeo and Juliet, this love story is set in a 1950s New York City following Tony, intertwined with the gang The Jets and Maria, tied to The Sharks. There are so many factors that this film can and should be commended for: the music, lyrics, acting and cinematography all being sublime and combined in such a captivating way, my eyes didn’t leave the screen. West Side Story is a must see for any musical lover, or not.
